We assume it was a joke or prank.  No one would intentionally spend money on slots because of music.

Whatever the intent, the "message" or "suggestion" can be perceived "back-masked" in the most unlikely of songs.

'...go to the nearest slot machine which catches your eye or calls out your name...'
'...to receive your reward...'
'...if you do or not don't you'll never know...'

This would appear to be bad advice - slot machines aren't supposed to work that way.  We don't know if 1986 marked some transition in how slot machines were designed, built, or marketed.
