#112. Slot machines inform the conscious or unconscious mind of those they entertain with exactly or approximately what to expect up to 5 "plays" or "spins" in advance.

They are for entertainment purposes only.  Putting money into one does not qualify as gambling or betting.

How is that possible?

  1. Payouts occur on a pre-calculated or calculated "schedule" - not randomly or not after the button is pressed.
  2. Slot machines currently in use (which may not apply to every single one) inform the conscious or unconscious mind up to 5 plays in advance whether a payout is more or less likely or better.

It's the individual's responsibility to pay attention or stay aware so they know when to get up and abandon the machine.

The timing of bonuses - how many more spins or plays before the next occurs - are "told" to the patron by the machine at least 4 spins in advance.

We don't understand the manufacturers of slot machines or their mindset.  And we're a little curious how new machines are developed and built without these details leaking out.

Our own question was just answered.

Does knowing this impact how one views casino "rewards programs"?  Only if you apply logic and common sense.  Gamblers often get accused of the opposite with disbelief and resignation.

They must choose to accept reality or believe what a slot machine tells them.  Either option may be true but it doesn't change one fact:

  • A slot machine is a compulsive liar which tells you how it behaves and rewards only to turn around and stab you in the back a few minutes later.

We may have that last sentence backward in its entirety.

More information will be provided.
