How does one explain paying above sticker for a new vehicle?  What about getting below the Kelley Blue Book trade in value?

The car or truck manufacturers provide the vehicles to dealerships at a cost.  Those also have a recommended or "suggested" dollar amount a customer should pay.  That's where things stop being rational.

There are honest individuals who earn a paycheck or commission.  This is not directed at them.  But some number of managers or salesman at new or used car lots or dealerships take the "suggested" price, add spin, wait for emotional momentum to build, then "accept" the customer's offer.

Some say it's the customer's fault.  We don't believe that's always the case.  Those who do may remember the subliminal images of a beverage or coke once flashed in a movie theater.  That's not acceptable now for good reason.

Two dealerships in St. Louis are allegedly using the same noised based technique found in popular music to hide messages or suggestions. Their use doesn't stop at the door or end at the street.

Sound carries even when it starts off as noise.  Even though it's meant to be heard subliminally by a potential customer in person, it can end up in nearby individual's dreams or nightmares.

Has someone you know dreamed repeatedly about buying a vehicle?  For some, it's a neverending nightmare.  They may have needed a vehicle at the time which often brings up the phrase "your unconscious might be trying to tell you something".

There's a good chance there's more to it.

You may have about recordings meant to confer confidence or self control.  It stands to reason the same exist to erode someone else's confidence or determination.

And all it takes is a mic locked cell phone playing something like:

  • "...you won't get a better deal somewhere else..."
  • "...no one else has the vehicle you want..."
  • "...you don't have to listen to this if you don't want to.  But if you need or want a new or used car or truck you or they are or will be at or in the right or best place or location..."

Here are 2 dealerships in St. Louis where "subliminal persuasion" has been used in this manner.  Be aware that one of them is more straightforward then the other in their content:

  • Napleton Hyundai in Hazelwood, MO
  • All Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Bridgetown, MO
The first location was reported to the FBI.  Both locations were mentioned in an email to local government officials.  You can view the email at the link below:
