Subject: Car dealerships
Senator,
I've never had any luck at car dealerships. I've been quick to accept what I'm told as fact. I've been more lenient on the prices I've been given on trade ins. I've paid more than I thought I would or should when purchasing cars.
Now I don't believe luck had anything to do with it.
When I was last at a car dealership - Napleton Hyundai in Hazelwood - trying to sell my vehicle I was standing in the lobby and began having words echo in my head. I assume the words were being suggested through some means and the words were my perception of that.
I really don't think those details matter.
Here's what I "heard" in my head:
'We provide favors to anyone who sells us a car or truck at a reasonable price.'
'We just need to decide what a reasonable price is.'
'To anyone who wishes to cheat us: we retaliate.'
'The best time for us to be here is: you'll know when the time is right.'
If that was the only incident I would already have written it off and forgotten it. But something similar happened in front of Pattonville Fire Protection District Engine House Number One which is about a block from All Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram.
Here's what I "heard" in my head there:
'You don't have to listen if you don't want to.'
'If you're in the market for a new or used vehicle look no further...'
For both those instances I could hear nothing like those things with my hearing. The words seemed to appear out of nowhere.
If I've been suggested or influenced on vehicle prices offered or accepted without my awareness of it... I'm extremely angry. But I do not "retaliate" ever.
Would someone please look into this?
