We choose to be "friends" for very specific reasons.
They may or may not choose to be "friends" in return - that's on them, not us.
Assuming we choose our "friends" wisely... what must be inherently wrong with another who's "against" them?
Consider a "hypothetical" situation:
- Country C is threatening Country T.
- Country T is a "friend" of Country A.
- There is reason to believe the threat is credible.
Sample statement made by Country A in the form of a "press" release or statement:
- Country A: "Country T is a friend of ours."
- Country A: "Whether another country views us as 'their friend' or not doesn't change who we choose to be 'friends with'."
- Country A: "A friend is a friend."
- Country A: "So we would like to be clear about the following:"
- Country A: "When Country C - or any country - threatens our friend... it's the same as making that threat directly to us."
- Country A: "That should answer any or all questions as to what's going to happen next."
More information will be provided.
