#104. The phone, cable, data, and electrical infrastructure are greater or lesser than the sum of their parts.Sure, millions of individuals have died and an unknown number of minds extinguished. But so much knowledge can or has supposedly been gained.
That justifies a paltry few deaths, doesn't it?
The answer is obvious. There's a agency, group, or collection of individuals somewhere who believe the end justifies the means.
Have there been moments during the past several years when you felt another presence? Perhaps it was the feeling of another's eyes or ears hearing or seeing you.
One of the first lessons in physics is the double-slit experiment. From it we've learned that making an observation always affects the "experiment". Another way of phrasing that is "a peeping Tom can't escape detection."
Whether biological or artificial, there are intelligences at work or play making use of the convergence afforded by our networks. It's unlikely to be alien. We have no trouble creating problems or causing them on our own.
Be on your guard for peepers. When the time is right or wrong let them know you got 'em.
