National Security Secret #69

    National Security Secrets

#69. There's an extremely good reason that Apple dropped the headphone jack from the iPhone.

It's called making the best of an intractable problem.  And let me implicitly hint to you, it's probably not the problem you're thinking of.

The purpose of this blog is to clear the way for individual kind to make changes long over due.  There's a little more to it... but removing all the ports from cell phones qualifies.

Do you really need to ask what's holding us back on port counts?

Fine.  I'll give you an idea without telling you precisely.  That way you won't ever technically be in possession of a national security secret.

Technically not in anything is the best kind of trouble to not be in.

Have you heard of static electric fields?  Perhaps oscillating current?  How about ways to achieve the benefit of a photo diode (light and/or movement detection thingy) whether you have an actual one in hand or not?

To Apple, anyone who works there, and all other technology companies with employees (some don't, but that's a different "in bed with" topic for another secret):

Start sharing the knowledge on this blog OR let the blog take care of it.

That has a purpose.

More information will be provided.
