#43. Another possible theory for what astronomers observe as "dark matter" is simply that gravitational waves can oscillate like sound or radio waves and for anything in their path the effect is no different than relativity and accelerating an object up to the speed of light.
Picture 2 objects of equal mass circling each other at a leisurely pace. Nothing special to see with that.
Now picture them increasing in velocity and spiraling tighter together. As their speed approaches that of light, their mass begins increasing to infinity. Does anyone need to point out that this will also create an oscillating gravitational wave as a result?
That oscillating gravitational wave and the relativistic increase in mass are one and the same.
